Bar Berlin: The beating heart of Euro fever in Sint-Truiden
Every match turned the Grote Markt into a true football temple. But it was not just about the football: the experience was central. Visitors enjoyed not only the excitement on the pitch, but also a flawless service. Paying? That was lightning fast and hassle-free, thanks to an innovative cashless payment system from Entrytickets.
Visitors picked up their cashless card at one of the five tills, topped it up, and could then order and pay without any issues. Thanks to a simple system where you held the card against the device at the bar, orders were processed instantly. But behind the scenes, there was much more going on. The entire payment system ran on a stable internet connection — a crucial factor for the success of these events.
The organisation of Bar Berlin relied on Astro Rent for their internet provision. We were brought in to set up a temporary but highly reliable network. Thanks to an internet connection from the Sint-Truiden town hall, we were able to set up a wired network covering the crucial parts of the site. Via carefully planned cabling from the town hall’s cellars to the VIP tent, we created a central hub from which four access points distributed the network.
Challenges overcome, success guaranteed
Setting up and dismantling the network for every match was no easy task. Tight deadlines and multiple events running simultaneously made this a challenging project. But thanks to our modular approach and efficient planning, we succeeded every single time in delivering a stable, reliable internet connection. This ensured that Bar Berlin was time and again a place where the Euro experience was optimal — both on and off the pitch.
